Positive Affirmations

Hi friends,

I originally decided to create this segment, which lasted 10 weeks on my Instagram in January 2017. I wanted to do my part in creating positivity in this world.  I’ve first hand experienced the benefit of positive affirmations.  My mindset, my demeanor and way of life has improved ever since I started practicing this small but effective change.

One of my favourite sayings is “positive mind, positive vibes, positive life” ♥ .  I believe that what you put out in to the world is returned to you.  I don’t expect that every day is going to be a walk in the park but if you can re-center your mind and thoughts to a more positive note, you’re already on your way to living a more positive life. Remember, negativity breeds more negativity.  You need to pave the way for positivity in your life.

What are positive affirmations?

If you haven’t tried positive affirmations before, they are little phrases that you repeat to yourself (either aloud or in your mind). This can be done at any time during the day each day or when you need it most. For example, while you brush your teeth or first thing when you wake up in the morning. I know all messages don’t speak to everyone, so you can try my weekly positive affirmations or make up your own for whatever speaks to you and your current situation. Personally, I like doing it in the morning right as I wake up because that’s when I’m really like ughhh do I have to wake up from my cozy bed right now? I find that speaking these thoughts sets my day in the right direction from the get-go.

Why should you do this?

Well, by being more positive, you can rid yourself of the self-defeating beliefs and reprogram your subconscious mind.  You may have childhood matters that keep you from reaching your full potential or just situations in your current life.  I believe that change begins from within.  If you start practicing positive affirmations, I think you’ll find that slowly over time, you will think less negatively towards yourself, a particular situation or whatever your goal is with this.

Above is an example of a positive affirmation you could practice.  I know not every affirmation will speak to you so feel free to make your own too!
